What goes into my work?
Editing isn’t about imposing my taste on your manuscript. The story is yours: your voice, your ideas, your execution. My job is to use my editorial experience to show you what is working, what isn’t, and where the manuscript can become stronger.
I look at things like plot progression, character development and motivation, pacing, emotional impact, and how effectively the manuscript holds the reader’s attention.
Every manuscript is considered individually. I work through it according to the priorities we agree on together, because the final decisions always belong to the author.
What exactly do I do?
We start with a conversation about what you want to achieve with your manuscript. Then I read through the text, taking notes, highlighting what works well, identifying problems, and looking for possible ways to strengthen it.
At the end, you receive a detailed editorial letter with concrete suggestions and possible directions for revision. The final decisions always remain yours.
Why am I explaining this on the pricing page?
Because you’re not only paying for a word count or an hourly rate. You’re paying for the time, attention, experience, and analytical work I put into your manuscript.
The final price can also depend on the way we work together.
A second editing round, combined services, or editing after coaching may qualify for a lower individual quote.
The prices below are starting rates for manuscripts I haven’t worked on before. The exact price is always agreed in advance for each project.
