As both a writer and an editor, I know how much work goes into a manuscript: the ideas, the uncertainty, the rewrites, and the hope that the story will finally come together. At Silken Quill, I help you see your manuscript more clearly, strengthen what’s already working, and move closer to the version you want it to become.
My path
From the first idea to a published novel, I’ve experienced the whole process: outlining, building characters, drafting, revising, and editing.
I don’t only know this process from the editor’s side of the red pen. I’m a writer too.
My approach
Editing, to me, isn’t about rewriting your story for you. My goal is to help you see more clearly what is working, what isn’t, and why.
I give honest, specific feedback, but I think it’s just as important to show you what is already strong in the manuscript. I don’t want to impose ready-made solutions. I want to give you perspectives and possibilities that help you find the path that fits your story.
I consider our work successful when, by the end, not only is your manuscript stronger, but you also understand more clearly how and why your story works.
